Jose Jones Rockin’ The Suburbs
Jamien, owner of Jose Jones in Thirroul, shares the secrets to the successful business approach that saw Jose Jones secure top billing among the local community of food lovers.
Fresh from a NYE Glam Rock celebration and Australia Day festivities, Jamien, owner of Jose Jones in Thirroul, tells me it’s been go go go for 2019.
There seems to be no stopping this creative crew. This energy spearheads a successful business approach that saw Jose Jones opening another local hangout, the Timbermill in Bulli, and appearing in some big media stories on the area. This included featuring in the wildly popular The Design Files, who raved Jose Jones has ‘such good vibes!’
So, what are the secrets to success for one of the northern Illawarra’s trendiest restaurants?
We talk to Jamien on what makes Jose Jones keep the customers coming back for more.
Our customers love Live music
“70s, 80s, acoustic. We try out all our acts. They’ve all got a great vibe. Old school locals to Sydney bands. We keep it fresh and do it regularly,” said Jamien.
A recent favourite was relaxed acoustic sounds of Joe Mungovan. Local guitarist Michael Bond also entertained the Jose Jones crowd on Australia Day long weekend.
“We have a lot of regulars who know when they come here, they will feel comfortable. There’s no pressure here,” continued Jamien.
“I’m a surfer and we’re right near the beach, so there’s a lot of that relaxed vibe. Good service helps. Our staff are friendly and happy and are enjoying themselves if our customers are smiling.”
Keep the food interesting
“We try to give our customers good food and drink. We’re always honing our menu to keep things interesting,” said Jamien.
The Tapas menu gets great feedback on Google Reviews, with one customer rating the overall menu for its “fresh, quality ingredients, and you can taste the love!” No doubt with that rating at the top of the Reviews list, Jose Jones will continue to bring in new clientele.
And what of your social media? Jose Jones has some fun posts that seem to do well. Jamien shares his thoughts on making the most of social media.
“The best kind of posts show our personality. We have some fun with pictures of our staff and customers. We don’t do boring. Videos always do well.”
Seems like sound advice, from this marketer’s perspective.
Congrats Jamien and Crew. Wishing you all the best for 2019.
