Happy New Year all.
Things feel new and fresh and exciting this time of year. The sun is shining, and customers seem to be coming through the doors.
I suspect you’re even indulging some New Year’s resolutions, with big plans for 2019.
If one of those big plans is building your social media, there are some things particular to the hospitality industry you’ll want to keep in mind.
Instagram lead
This is the platform which leads your efforts. If you do nothing else, create beautiful pictures here. Buy a decent camera and take photos of every event you cater. Invest in a photography session, to capture the beautiful images of all your food. Posts these with recipe tips or news about the food. Use hastags related to your dishes and restaurant. Your suburb hashtag like #thirroul or #thirroulfood works well.
Plan to post at least every second day

Do one exciting think a month
Have something exciting going on with your business every month. Host a competition. Run a sales promotion. Host an event. There are lots of things you can do. This gives you something your customers and community can enjoy hearing about. It also gives you content to post.
